There is nothing more annoying than for a student to enter a computer classroom and find her computer’s Windows desktop painted with bizarre colors, mouse pointers looking like hypodermic needles and/or fonts unreadable! Windows Configuration Cop, WinCC for short, is the software solution you need to prevent this from happening.

WinCC was created to prevent students from accessing any of the Windows configuration dialog box windows. Some of these include My Computer, the Control Panel and Display Properties dialog boxes. Installing and running WinCC could not be easier. In fact you will not even know its there. But more importantly students will not know its there either. You see, WinCC has no visible window, like most Windows programs. When Windows is first started, WinCC will automatically load itself into the computer’s memory and will continually run in the background searching for students opening configuration windows. When a configuration window is found the following events will take place: 1) the window will be closed; 2) a warning message will be displayed; 3) a sound will be heard.

You can also customize WinCC to look for other program Windows to close such as Solitaire. You do this by adding the Solitaire name to the list of program windows that WinCC looks for.

WinCC is available with a single user license for $19.95. A site license is available allowing unlimited site program installation for $59.95. With either order please include 5% of total order price for shipping and handling. PA residents must include 6% sales tax.

The WinCC package includes software program disk and installation instructions. WinCC has been thoroughly tested with Windows 95, 98 and ME at a number of school locations.

A 30-day evaluation copy is available for download. The evaluation version will stop working after 30 days of use.
